News

15th November: The club will be conducting the 2009 Australian Junior Longtrack Championships at its Somersby track next year on 4th & 5th July.

8th November:  The Club will be hosting the NSW Junior Speedway Championship.  15th November.

Noise Complaint: A small band of workers has been working very hard to satisfy the Council requirements with the noise complaint to help our club remain open. So far the club has spent over $18,000. This amount would be more than double if it wasn’t for the enormous support and help of a few people that have donated time, workers, machinery and products for free. The members of the club and especially me would like extend a big THANK YOU to this group who wish not to be mentioned by name. Unfortunately we still have a long way to go and we now have to as soon as possible erect more noise barriers. If you have anything that can help with this please phone me as we need as much help as possible. Don’t forget to keep your bike as quite as possible because if it is to loud the club will unfortunately have to ask you to leave. Along with the noise complaint came an inspection from Council of the track facilities. We have also been informed that the canteen will need to be renovated. We need to tile the walls, floors and gyprock the ceiling. If you know of anyone that can help with this other major job, please let the club know. The club does not require the best quality of material, seconds would be adequate, and a tiler. The canteen makes quite a bit for the club and if we are forced to shut it down this will be quite a big gap in our finances meaning the fees may have to go up.

With the working bees, members will need to check the website out for the dates of working bees. These dates will be mentioned at rider briefings as well. The working bees are imperative and doesn’t matter whether you classify yourself as a member of CCJMCC it’s about keeping the track open.

Track Preparation: Warren Scott needs a hand with preparing the track on the Saturday afternoon before racing on the Sunday. This is not a hard job and please ring Warren on 0409 347 259 if you can help. All you will have to do is to drive a roller or water truck. Also the water truck needs some minor mechanical work done. If you are able to help please let Warren know.

Rubbish: Please pick your rubbish and do not drop anywhere. This also means not to dump it outside the complex as well. It is not fair that our neighbour has to pick up rubbish outside the front of his place after we have a meeting. Please keep Allen Park MVRG CLEAN.

Sponsors: The Gardner family has been very active in getting our sponsorship this year. The club would like to thank them for all their help, support and effort as it has been greatly appreciated.

AGM: The Annual General Meeting will be held on the 23rd November 2008 at the lunch break. All positions will become vacant and I encourage all members to think about standing for your club. The clubs future depends on it people volunteering to help keep the club open.

Perpetual Trophies: If you received a Perpetual Trophy last year, could you please return the trophy as soon as possible back to the club before the Presentation/Christmas Party Day. Thank you.

Sponsors: We have had the Gardner family chase up most of our sponsorship this year. The club would like to thank them for all their help, support and effort as it has been greatly appreciated.

Presentation/Christmas Party Day: On the 7th December 2008, at approximately 11.00am the Presentation/Christmas Party Day will be held at Mackenzie’s Park, Budgewoi. Please remember your club rules about trophy and Santa Bags. We are looking for bag fillers.

24th September:  The Club will be hosting the NSW Junior Speedway Championship.  Date to be confirmed.

Check out the new website for White Race Tuning at http://www.whiteracetuning.com/.

17th September: HONDA will again be supporting our club as major sponsor of the NSW Junior Track Championship in October. Congratulations and thanks to those who negotiated the deal.

22nd August: A lot of work has been done at the track but there is still much to be done. Walls and fencing still needs to be erected for the noise complaints requirement. Please support your club by offering help for the various working bees.

Help is also needed when organising and running race meetings. Senior members are asked to bring along somebody to help out with the various jobs that need to be done. Consideration is being given to a ballot to select riders to perform various jobs.

There have been a number of incidents of bad and aggressive behaviour recently. this will not be tolerated. if you see or are on the receiving end of this type of behaviour please report it to a committee member and the club will take the appropriate action.

No parent, relative or friend is permitted on the start line. The only people permitted are race officials. This is for safety reasons.

The George Allen Memorial supp regs are on the MNSW website. There will be a free sausage sizzle at the end of presentations.

The annual general meeting will take place on 23rd November during the lunch break at Pointscore #10

19th July: Club officials and helpers have done a great job in upgrading the track for the junior dirt track championships. New spectator fencing, track barriers and paint jobs have the place looking great. Thanks to all involved.

18th May: Thanks to Image Motorcycles of West Gosford for allowing us to display some dirt bikes at their shop to promote the Central Coast Cup. We gave out leaflets and talked to shoppers. Many young kids were especially interested. We will get some spectators and probably some new members out of it. Thanks to those who took part.

Image Motorcycles are offering club members 10% discount on their range of accessories. Just show you club membership card.

16th May: Officials are needed for the Central Coast Cup 24th & 25th May. Flaggies and other marshals are required.

Can you help get a sponsor for the cup meeting? A race class can be sponsored for as little as $150.

Please contact the club president if you can help in any capacity.

Attention Kawasaki Riders: The club is planning a display of Kawasaki race bikes at a dealership to promote dirt track events.  Your help is needed. Click here to email David Lamont for details.

Extracts from the January Newsletter.

The Australian Junior Dirt Track Championship has been changed to 18-20th July 2008 . This was a Motorcycling Australia decision to change the date due to the Motocross Championship being held in Perth around the same time.

This will be a very busy year for the club as the club will be celebrating 30 years at Allen Park.  At this stage we are unable to issue a race calendar as the seminar for this will be held on the 9th February at Kurri Kurri Bowling Club.  Once this has been finalised  the calendar will be sent out ASAP.

Hope to see on the 17th February for our sign on and practice day.

WORKING BEES: The track is in quite a poor state.  We need approximately 2 volunteers for Saturday 2nd February and as many as possible for the Sunday 3rd February.

On Saturday 9th February we need approximately 2 volunteers for this day and as many as possible for the Sunday 10th February.

The reason it is being done this way is that there will be heavy machinery on the Saturday and we then need the working bee on the Sunday to put the track together again.  We need help with tyre walls, mowing, maintenance

NOISE COMPLAINT: The noise complaint is still on going.  The committee is still working on this with Gosford City Council.  All members are reminded under rule no. 12.10 page 91 of the 2007 GCR’s the noise emission is being reduced from 102 dba to 96 dba.  If your machinery is loud please do something about it to help with this complaint.  Members are reminded not to start their bikes before riders briefing.

Congratulations to Brody Nowlan who will be starring in a documentary about Casey Stoner to be screened on the 25th January 2008 on TV.  Brody was filmed and interviewed at Allen Park in December.

BREAK IN AND THEFT:On the day of the Christmas Party it was discovered that the club had been broken into and all the copper piping from the toilets and canteen had been taken.  The club did inform the police and met them that afternoon after the party but unfortunately nothing could be done.  Because of this stupid theft of maybe receiving a lousy $10.00 for the piping stolen the club will be up for hundreds to replace it.

The club has a big year ahead with various championship events. If you have anything to donate for prizes or have any contacts with businesses that might sponsor events please contact the club president.
